Hi! I have the same problem but I set both the whole type and the part type. As a result I cannot define composition definitions at all. Same for aggregation definitions. Due to autosave???

Does any exception occur in the server log or browser log?
Does browser reload let you proceed working?
Don't forget to set the whole type's data type to "Composite".
Only a composite type can have part types.
In the future the type editor will become more robust and usable.
For the moment it is quite prototypical.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
