Description
We should include facets in the standard distribution of deepamehta. Especially for files that have meta tags such as mp3, ogg, jpg etc. it would be very nice if we could display them by default.

I think I completely understand the aproach. But one could e.g. add a "music-browser" to the menu. Then I would see all .mp3 and .ogg files from the file directory only and it would show the mp3/ogg meta tags. So in the file browser I would see meta tags for the file (from the filesystem, like e.g. size, date of creation etc.) but in the music-browser I would see the mp3/ogg meta tags only.
Meanwhile the Facets plugin *is* part of the DM standard distro as it is used e.g. by the Workspaces plugin (the workspace assignment is a facet of every topic and association).
However, the design of a generic UI for editing and displaying facetted information requires IMHO further conceptualization.
That would be contradictory to DM's concept of facets as it is currently realized.
Originally facets in DM represent different aspects of the same thing. What aspect are shown in the editor and info views depend on the application context. All the facets of a topic are deliberately *not* displayed at the same. Instead it is matter of an external configuration mechanism to setup relevant facets corresponding to different application contexts. For the moment I can't see how a generic config mechanism would look like without talking about specific application domains and how to switch between them. For example, the Kiezatlas plugin technically is nothing but such an external configurator that wires certain info fields to certain Kiezatlas websites. Each Kiezatlas website represents a self-contained application domain.
However, I understand your original intention, and see the use of file meta data as very useful as well.
Perhaps DM uses the Facet term in a misleading way.
Discussion to be continued :-)
