Webclient default font size?

Description

Hi Malte, JuergeN, dgf, ziegi!
Dear users,

What do you think about the Webclient's default font size? That is when the browser window is in "actual size" (not zoomed).

Currently the Webclient is styled without a fixed font size. Instead it respects the browser's standard font size preference. All Webclient's font size variations are calculated relative to that one. I think/thought this is good web practice.

The downside is I can't know how the Webclient looks for other users. So the subject of this ticket is rather an investigation:

  • are you fine with the Webclient's font size?
  • Do you regularly zoom the Webclient window to get a more suitable view?
  • Do you've changed your browser's font size preference?
  • What is your browser's default value for the font size preference?

I would be happy about lots of responses :-)

I use Firefox 25.0 on Ubuntu. My default font is Liberation Sans 14 pt. I do not see any need for a change with the latest build dated Nov. 19th.

I assume its OK when I post ziegi's response here.

I am fine with the actual implementation.

I do use a lot the zoom feature of the webbrowser
and am happy that all elements on the canvas
do zoom without problems.
Uhh i am just thinking of independent zooming of the canvas
and the menu/detail pane - better forgett about this.

The default Text size in my webbrowsers is 16pt

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Regarding the default font size everything seems fine then.
Thank you JuergeN and ziegi for responses!
