Description
After using the "By Text" search the search results on the right side reveal little information on which item might be the one i am searching for.
Each entry could, for example provide immediate infos:
- how it relates to my search query (e.g. show words before and after _each_ hit in the field)
- allow sorting of the search results by "last modifeid", "created" and alphabetical timestamps
- which topic type matched the search query (e.g. might be a child topic of a searchable unit)
- in which workspace the searchable unit currently lies
- when it was last modified (sorting of that list by last modified)
Just to name a few hints which come to my mind, so that i could make a more informed selection and not just "feel lucky" when i have, for example, ten notes in my resultset.
Just wanted to note this down here as some user feedback.
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
Furthermore, to expand on this, since a "By Text" search result set may be composed of topics of many types, reducing the result set, to e.g. just "Persons" or "Web Resources" as a step of iterative refinement of my text search becomes useful in datasets where there are already just 100s of entries (in address- and notebook).
